Dental sealants now offer a means of successfully protecting molar and premolar chewing surfaces from decay. Dental sealants are simply a thin plastic film that Dr. Wilson can apply to your child's teeth to significantly reduce or entirely prevent decay. |
Sports Mouthguards
Does your child play hockey? Football? Is your child into in-line skating? Or skateboarding? Protect your budding athlete's teeth with a mouthguard! A mouthguard is a thin, plastic appliance which fits over the teeth. In many activities, a mouthguard can protect the mouth from unexpected mishaps. Most mouth injuries, whether due to blows from a hockey stick or an elbow, can be prevented through the use of a mouthguard.

Flouride
Why is fluoride important? Fluoride is important because it interrupts the formation of enamel-eating acid in your mouth. When given to children, fluoride becomes part of the tooth enamel and acts as a defense against cavities. Tooth decay is significantly reduced when drinking water contains the proper amount of fluoride. If fluoride is not added to your water supply, supplements are available from your pharmacist. |
